Introduction

HP Image Manager

HP Image Manager is a server based application that delivers operating systems and applications on-demand to thin clients or diskless PC's via OS Streaming technology. The server is used as a virtual disk drive, so clients do not require a hard disk or flash memory. All operating system and application processing is done by the client.

A significantly reduced software image containing the operating system, application and hardware drivers for multiple hardware platforms can be streamed on-demand to any PC or thin client - regardless of the device's hardware configuration. Thin client users keep their personal configurations and settings, and their data remains unique and secure on the server.

Version 5.0 greatly simplifies the Image Manager experience with the addition of a completely redesigned user interface. This new UI allows self described non-technical persons to ensure consistent boot experiences time and time again in addition to being able to repurpose end point desktops on-demand at the click of a mouse.

At A Glance
  • Changes are made to a single image on the server, rather than individual clients
  • Applications can be deployed instantly
  • Images can be swapped in and out quickly
  • Desktops can be re-purposed just by rebooting
  • Software failure gets repaired by a simple reboot
